Battle of Atlanta Bicycle Tour is an 10 mile, 3-hour adventure into a day in Atlanta’s history that changed the South forever. Jonah McDonald, a professional storyteller, history teacher and owner of Sure Foot Adventures developed this tour and will often join us as our guest tour guide.  While on this bicycle journey into Civil War history, riders will follow the ghosts of the Battle of Atlanta. We will travel to all of the key battle locations depicted in the famous 360 degree painting housed in the Atlanta Cyclorama: General McPherson’s last ride, Hardee’s night march, the fighting on Leggett’s Hill, the storming of the Railroad Cut, and more.  We cycle through Grant Park, East Atlanta Village, Little 5 Points, and Inman Park. By the end of the tour you'll know the story of the battle, why it occurred, how it affected the conclusion of the Civil War, and its relevance today.  Battle of Atlanta Tours offers more hills and opportunity to exercise than our other 10-mile routes. Participants should be in good physical condition to sign up for this tour. Come back in February to book this tour.

Cycling in Atlanta: Atlanta is a beautiful and hilly area and we’ve designed our tours with this in mind. However, there is no way to avoid inclines (and fortunately declines) while on our bike tours. Most people can keep up comfortably, but please be mindful that bike riding is a physical activity and we travel “on average” 5 miles an hour. If you have question regarding the fitness level and abilities of participants, please give us a call and we can determine if we can ensure a safe and fun event for you or your group! We also partner with the Atlanta Trolley Tours to accommodate non-cyclists on large events.
